Crossing a Midtown street in a downpour.
A palette consisting of cobalt & ultramarine blue, raw and burnt umber, raw sienna, viridian green and white. 14"x18" Acrylic on canvas A new take on a familiar subject for me. Walking towards the gothic arches of the Brooklyn Bridge. Manhattan looming in the distance.
A fairly restricted (for me..) palette of cobalt, ultramarine blue, raw umber, raw sienna, burnt umber and viridian green This is a Manhattan Bridge piece I've re-worked several times in the last three years - almost completely overpainting what preceded it on each occasion, but maintaining the composition. Each time trying to further abstract the bridge and buildings - It's time to leave it be..
24"x36" Acrylic on canvas. An addition to the ongoing NYC skyline series. This was a commission but I was given free reign in terms of composition and colour. 30"x40" Acrylic on canvas. 2014 Click on the gallery below for a couple of details. This one is the first I did in this series of NYC buildings by the East river.
