A bend in the river.
Corlears hook, on the Lower East Side, viewed from the Manhattan Bridge.
24"x30" Acrylic on canvas
Here are three recent NYC paintings from the same series.
Crossing a Midtown street in a downpour.
A palette consisting of cobalt & ultramarine blue, raw and burnt umber, raw sienna, viridian green and white.
14"x18" Acrylic on canvas
A new take on a familiar subject for me. Walking towards the gothic arches of the Brooklyn Bridge. Manhattan looming in the distance.
A fairly restricted (for me..) palette of cobalt, ultramarine blue, raw umber, raw sienna, burnt umber and viridian green
This is a Manhattan Bridge piece I've re-worked several times in the last three years - almost completely overpainting what preceded it on each occasion, but maintaining the composition. Each time trying to further abstract the bridge and buildings - It's time to leave it be..
24"x36" Acrylic on canvas.
An addition to the ongoing NYC skyline series. This was a commission but I was given free reign in terms of composition and colour.
30"x40" Acrylic on canvas.

This one is the first I did in this series of NYC buildings by the East river.
Daily (almost), updates from my sketchbook and easel. Feel free to comment and share.
